Recently a News item was posted on ‘Club News’ headed ‘Handicap Surprises’ which went on to say how a players playing handicap might increase or decrease by a stroke due to our competitions being mixed events. This was to reflect the differences between the men’s and women’s courses and was dependent on the playing format ie Strokeplay or Stableford.
When you booked onto the April Medal, the men’s course handicaps decreased, when they should have increased. This was due to an error in administration by myself. This has now been corrected and has not affected the results in anyway, with the exception that you might notice that you amassed a point or two more than you thought (men).
I apologise for any anxiety that this may have caused. I’m learning too you know!

.....and on the subject of learning, when filling in scorecards:

One card per player
Enter just your ‘Handicap Index’ (shown on Club V1)
Sign the card

these are ‘rules of golf’ requirements

In addition, putting your name on the card, the name of the competition, date and tee sets used (particularly RED tees) is extremely helpful to competition committees.

Des Keeling
